Dropbox to get preinstalled on Android phones in ten countries

chartier:

Dropbox has joined the bloatware ranks of McAfee Antivirus, Sprint’s Mobile TV app, and Real Player by getting preinstalled on Sony Ericsson phones in ten countries, including the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Australia, and Italy.

I’ve come to rely on Dropbox as much as (well, probably more than) your typical digital worker with multiple devices, but bloatware is still bloatware.

compared with the other ‘bloat’ apps I feel dropbox is probably the most useful (for business)

DropVox

onethingwell:

A friction-free way to record audio straight to your Dropbox—you can even set it to start recording when you launch the app, to save a screentap1.

iTunes: US | UK

Thanks, Steve.

  1. Or whatever the touchscreen equivalent of ‘keypress’ is? Glassprod? Phonepoke? ↩

Good news, thumb warriors! Blackberry is now joining the company of iPhone, iPad, and Android in Dropbox’s family of mobile apps, continuing our magical quest to allow access to all your files from anywhere.
We also recently updated all our other apps too! Our iPhone/iPad app got a new home screen, HD support, caching and more! Our Android app now has enhanced photo galleries, multi-upload photo, and it looks snazzier too! (via The Dropbox Blog » Blog Archive » Dropbox + Blackberry =)

Habilis

onethingwell:

Send files to your Habilis email address and they show up in your Dropbox.com dropbox a few seconds later - simple! It’s dead handy for devices like the iPad where you can create documents but can’t easily get them into your Dropbox.
